AHM Mustafa Kamal, former president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), took charge as the 11th president of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday for a year. Kamal was announced the ICC president at the Annual Conference in Melbourne of Australia today. Kamal, who took over as the ICC Vice-President for 2012-14 on June 28, 2012, has succeeded Alan Isaac as President for 2014-15 for a 12-month period. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has congratulated AHM Mustafa Kamal, on becoming the new President of ICC. BCB President Nazmul Hassan said that it was proud moment for everyone associated with Bangladesh cricket: “Today is a momentous occasion because for the first time we have a Bangladeshi as ICC President. This is an honour for the nation. On behalf of the BCB I extend our very best wishes to Mr Kamal. “He is a man of cricket and his affection for the game is undying. I am sure the ICC, Bangladesh and the global cricket fraternity would benefit from Mr Kamal’s enterprise and dedication,” Hassan added
