‘Purani Jeans‘ as well as ‘Kya Dilli Kya Lahore‘ have turned out to be major disappointments at the box office. With collective total of both films struggling to touch the 2 crore
mark, one can well imagine the kind of footfalls that were registered
in theaters. Considering the fact that there was no other major Hindi
film in the running, one definitely expected more, at least from ‘Purani Jeans‘ which actually had decent commercial content.
In fact ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘
wasn’t any great shakes either at the box office as it started sliding
down after a good week, something which was always on the expected lines
after the film released.

This is where ‘2 States‘ managed to make its presence felt in the third week as well, what with its total hitting the 98 crore mark. With 100 crore pretty much on the anvil and the Sajid Nadiadwala-Karan Johar film expected to fetch Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
their first ever ‘century club’ entry this weekend itself, there was
some good news after all for Bollywood over the week gone by.
