10 Essential Services for Your Lazy Sunday

What's This?
Cat-lazy-sundaySometimes you just don’t want to get off the couch. It could be because of an epic Game of Thrones marathon, a blustery storm, an illness. Whatever the reason, the following sites, apps, and services won’t judge you for being lazy – it’s how they make their money.

These days you can get just about anything with the click of a button. What makes these sites different is that they’ll bring it right to your door – almost instantly. From dry cleaning to fashion advice to a bottle of wine, you’ll want to bookmark the following sites before your next hibernation (or weekend House of Cards marathon).
  • Shyp

    Shyp
Need to return some clothes but can’t find the right box? Don’t have time to wait in line at the post office? Sit back, relax, and let Shyp do the work for you via their handy iPhone app. Simply take photos of your items, enter their destinations, and a Shyp Hero will immediately swing by your place to pick up your stuff for only $5. They’ll pack it for you and send it anywhere in the world via the cheapest method. Right now the service is only available in San Francisco, but more cities will launch soon.

  • QuiQui

    Quiqui
When you’re sick, making a pharmacy run is the worst. Now imagine a drone dropping off cold medicine, Gatorade, and chicken noodle soup for you – and it only costs an extra buck. Since drones don’t have arms, you’ll have to get out of bed to meet the robot outside, but hey, that’s a nice compromise. The 24-hour automated drone delivery service will begin delivering drug store items to San Francisco’s Mission district soon.
  • FittingRoom

    Fittingroom
Sometimes you just need a second set of eyes – or a third, fourth, and fifth. The free FittingRoom iOS app is like Instagram meets Tinder. Snap a pic of your outfit, post it the site, and you’ll instantly get yes or no responses from the fashion-friendly community. Ask a specific question like, “Should I buy this dress?” or simply post a proposed outfit for approval.

  • BloomThat

    Bloomthat
BloomThat is a ridiculously fast flower delivery service starting at just $35. In a true blend of modern tech and old school charm, a bouquet of fresh blooms will be delivered to your lucky someone by bike within 90 minutes. Talk about pedal (petal?) power. The free iOS app makes ordering on the fly extra easy. Right now the service is only available in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • AmazonFresh

    Amazonfresh
The newest addition to the instant grocery trend is Amazon. With free same-day and early morning delivery on orders of $35 or more, you’ll never want to step foot in a grocery store again. Especially since the service includes some of your favorite small local stores. Amazon Fresh is taking off in the San Francisco, Seattle, and Southern California areas, but will likely expand fast. Until then, competitors like Peapod can bring groceries to your door.

  • Postmates

    Postmates
Ordering dinner for delivery is nothing new but, but Postmates is. It delivers from literally anywhere in your city, even from the places that don’t offer the service – all within 90 minutes and starting at $5. And it’s not just limited to food and coffee shops. They’ll swing by Staples and pick up a new print cartridge if that’s what you need now. The iPhone and Android app give you a real-time tracker so you can anticipate your delivery. Postmates is available in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, D.C., and Chicago with plans to expand to every major city in the world.

  • Lyft

    Lyft
There’s no need to stand on a street corner and hail a taxi anymore when Lyft can do it for you. Request a ride on the app from the comfort of your couch, and a pink-mustachioed car will appear at your door within minutes. While other ride services like Uber have been dodging complaints about surge pricing as of late, Lyft now offers the reverse. A “happy hour” discount for low-traffic periods can happen at any time, and when it does you could get as much as 50% off your ride.

  • Minibar

    Minibar
Booze delivery in 60 minutes or less? Free delivery? It sounds too good to be true, but the MiniBar app is real, at least for New Yorkers. The iPhone app lets you order your favorite bottles of wine or liquor for delivery, and they can even help you budget enough drinks for special events. If you’re feeling really nice, you can gift a bottle to someone special.

  • Washio

    Washio
Nobody enjoys doing laundry. Add making two visits to the dry cleaners with a pile of clothes to that list as well. That’s why Washio is so amazing – it’s dry cleaning and laundry picked up at your doorstep and delivered back to you the next day. Simply request and pay for the service through their app, and get free delivery on orders over $35. Los Angeles, San Francisco, and D.C. can currently enjoy clean clothes at the tap of a button.
